Good Friday Feast

We went to my husbands parents place for an amazing meal on Good Friday and I was lucky enough to have permission from my Mother In-law to take pictures and blog her yummy feast she prepared for us!  :)

She made:
Mini slider burgers
Mini BBQ chicken and bacon salad sliders
Marinated Shrimp and Scallop kabobs
Deviled Eggs
Broccoli salad
Potato salad
and for dessert she made us a long time favorite recipe of Ginger bread cake and her famous sauce to top it off!  (I call it my dessert gravy hahaha it's yummy!)

BBQ stirfry over rice

Oh Hello there!  I know... I have been slacking lately and not posting anything but I intend to change that!

The weather has been getting nicer each and every day so my husband and I fired up the BBQ and decided to just go crazy and create a meal with anything and everything we felt like at the moment and what we came up with was very simple and pretty tasty!

Started it off with 3 Chicken breast cut up in large pieces sprinkled with Montreal Chicken Spice, 4 small Onions cut into quarters and separated and then I grabbed Mushrooms, Broccoli, Red & Yellow Peppers

In the zone!  haha

Mmm the veggies are starting to look pretty good. I lightly covered them in Plum Sauce

We then brought out even more sauces! My husband wanted Cherry sauce on the chicken so I said "Sure why not!"

Went inside and prepared some white rice while everything was out on the BBQ simmering.

Started to layer the toppings onto the bed of rice starting with the Chicken Breast with Montreal Chicken spice and Cherry sauce (I know this may seem like an odd combination but the spices and the sweet Cherry sauce really go well together)

Mmm roasted Onions go on next!

Then pile me high with VEGGIES!  :)

As you may notice with the majority of the meals I make they are quite simple and not that bad for you but I will never say everything I make or eat is going to be low fat  ;) haha  Again you can always spruce these meals up in any way you may think it will taste good. That's the best part of cooking, there are no limits!
