Spaghetti infused Weiner's

I was wanting something different and fun for a change and I had stumbled across these weiner spaghetti things before in the past but never really found a certain recipe or anything to go along with the pictures so I decided to just give it a go and make it however I wanted.
I had some sun-dried tomato & basil noodle (as pictured) So I decided to spruce it up a bit with those and some regular noodles too!
I wasn't sure how they would cook so I broke my noodles in 3 pieces then cut the Larsen weiners in chunks and started to have fun! (I asked my husband to come help/play with our supper.. you will notice his creation in a picture below)
Once we got all of them poked and prodded with spaghetti noodles we waited for our water to come to a boil so we could start the cooking process.

It's not fun until you play with your food!  :)

Almost done...

And the finished product was topped off with some spicy red pepper pasta sauce. Yummmm

Remember no matter your age, gender or popularity it is always fun to play with your food and try new things!

Quick Sun-dried Tomatoes and Turkey Quiche

Why hello there! I know, I know.. it's been far too long since I have posted anything and I apologize. Life got busy and I slacked off  :-P

Leftover turkey from Christmas dinner, onions, sun-dried tomatoes chopped
Pre-made pie crust with a light coating of mayo (nothing but Hellmann's for me hahaha)
Once I sautéed everything I dumped it in the pie shell
Top off with some shredded old cheddar cheese (I love old cheddar!)

Whisk together 6 eggs, a tad bit of water (to make it fluffy) add seasonings to egg such as garlic powder and basil or anything else you can get your hands on and think will taste good

Chuck it in the oven at 350 until eggs are cooked and it's nicely browned

I hope you have as much fun as I do when it comes to whipping these quick and easy meals together and always remember to never be afraid to try new things and always play with your food!  :)

Onion & Sausage Casserole

Start with the onions covering the bottom of your lightly greased baking dish.
Sprinkle a nice layer of crushed buttery crackers like Ritz or the No Name version.
Slow cook Mild Italian sausages in about 1/2 an inch of water in the bottom of a frying pan then remove when cooked and slice, returning to frying pan on med-high heat to nicely brown up the sausages. Add 1 can of mushroom soup making sure to mix in all that yummy browned up juices from the pan then spoon over onions and crackers.
Cover and place in oven for roughly 30 minutes at 400
Sprinkle old cheddar cheese over. Yummm
Finished meal with a side of Garlic & Dill mashed potatoes.

Breakfast Bowls

As you may have noticed by looking at my past posts that I LOVE bacon... You just can't go wrong with bacon!

I have seen others making these awesome looking muffin cups with bacon and egg in them so I decided to try it out and put my own twist on it.

I have these awesome individual sized casserole dishes that just so happened to work perfectly for what I wanted them to. I just simply stuffed a piece of bread in there and Voila!  (the muffin cups often ask you to use a cookie cutter and cut your bread then lay it in the pan. I made mine simple and to the point)

Layered the bacon to form a "bowl" then returned to the oven to brown up a bit.
Once the bacon has browned up a bit I cracked an egg in there and a very light sprinkle of black pepper.
I decided to sprinkle some old cheddar cheese on top ;-)

Finished product with mini hash-brown patties. Yumm!

Again like almost everything else I tend to make, this is very easy and easily enjoyable.

Bacon Burger Dogs

Sticking with my "BBQ everything this Summer" theme I decided to try to create bacon burger dogs to put a brand new twist on the ever so boring hamburger/hot dog.

Let me tell you this... These were amazing!

I started off with lean ground burger then added about 4 slices of bacon cut up.
Seasoning's!  I added Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Black Pepper
 Squeeze some mustard in there...
Shake some Worcestershire sauce and Soy sauce in there for even more flavour.
Finally! Form burger into "dogs" then wrap them in bacon!
 Mmm! Bacon!
I slow cooked them on the BBQ on the top rack at about 350
Keep a close eye on them while on the BBQ. Due to the fat dripping off the bacon you are more than likely going to have a few grease fires spitting up and toasting your burger dogs, which could get pretty messy and result in black/burnt burger dogs haha

Served with old fashioned potato salad and rice & veggie salad.

I plan to enjoy the summer months and BBQ season for as long as possible!  :)

With a smile on your face, good food to eat and a nice cold beverage you can't go wrong.

Bacon Burger Dogs
1 lb of ground burger (you can also use ground chicken, pork, turkey)
1 pkg of bacon (you can also opt for the lower fat recipe and use Turkey or Chicken Bacon)
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Onion powder
1 tbs Mustard
1 tbs Soy sauce
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Dash of Pepper (opt)
(opt) 1 small onion chopped (I was missing this)

Directions
Mix all ingredients in bowl and be sure to really get in there and mix it up and make sure your sauces and seasoning's get distributed throughout.

Form into "dogs" roughly the same length as the buns you decide to serve them in. In this case I used street dog buns with poppy seeds which are larger than a regular hot dog bun but yet smaller than a sub bun :)

Gently yet tightly wrap your "burger dogs" in bacon. I found 3 pieces of bacon per dog covered it well from end to end but again it depends on the size of your dogs. You do however want to make sure that you don't have it too thick to prevent under cooking the burger inside and burning your bacon off. It can be tricky  haha

Once your burger dogs are formed, wrapped and ready, preheat your BBQ on low until the temp reaches roughly 400 then you can brush BBQ sauce over your burger dogs or chuck them on plain Jane. Either way they will be amazing!  Set them on the top rack and put out any grease fires that may come up and attack your burger dogs turning them into burnt black logs.

Serve on your bun of choice with whichever toppings and/or condiments you wish and pair with your favorite side and enjoy!  :)

Icecap's Anyone (stay tuned)

Ok I am going to try something new and exciting. Homemade icecap's just like "Tim Hortons" haha  We shall see about that!

I just made a fresh brew of coffee and letting it cool now so I can transfer it over to the ice-cube trays and start this adventure!

Stay tuned for all the steps and mishaps :)

Too hot to turn on the oven? Try BBQ'ing everything! :)

We have been blessed with some wonderful sunny and hot weather but unfortunately when those hot days bless us it also makes me curse and swear just thinking about the thought of turning the oven on to make something.

This is where the good ole BBQ is my best friend :)
I make anything and everything on there and it leaves me with a cool house to enjoy eating in haha

Making homemade burgers for supper?  Why not chuck some fries on the BBQ too! Depending on how you fancy your fries you can cook accordingly from a cookie sheet to a perforated pan for a more crispy outcome. Either way it's a great alternative to making the house hotter than it already is on those gorgeous hot Summer days.

***Everyone asks how I make my homemade burgers and quite frankly it's a "secret" hahaha If you stay tuned  I may just give in and share my "Secret Sassy Burger" recipe with you all to try and add a new twist of your own ;-)
